D.J. Harry Webb
Harry is the senior statesman at the firm. He graduated from the University of Connecticut Law School in 1956 and later received a Master of Laws degree from New York University in Taxation. He has practiced law in central Connecticut since 1960, in the areas of trusts, estates, probate, and tax matters.
Highlights
Early in his career in New Britain, Harry was in the forefront of the movement by physicians and other professionals to change the Federal tax laws to enable them to provide for their retirement on the same basis as available to employees of business corporations. In the course of this effort he testified before the IRS in Washington. After a long battle, the IRS, in a major policy change, agreed to allow these benefits to professionals.
Harry has been a member of the probate and tax sections of the Connecticut Bar Association for many years and was a Director of the Connecticut Estate and Tax Planning Council.
Leadership Roles
In the greater New Britain community, Harry has been active in such organizations as the YWCA as Chairman of its Board of Trustees and the United Way of Greater New Britain, both as Chairman of the Allocation Committee and as President. He was instrumental in reactivating the New Britain Foundation for Public Giving. He has represented the Jerome Home throughout its expansion from a small home for the aged in 1970 to a facility that offers a full continuum of care with 66 units of assisted living the first in New Britain to be ready for occupancy this summer.
