Berlin, CT – 25, 2014: Hartford elder law and disability attorney Sharon L. Pope of Czepiga Daly Pope & Perri, has been selected to chair and present to a national audience at the 8th Annual Academy of Special Needs Planners (ASNP) Meeting in Denver, Colorado from March 27-29th.
Known throughout Connecticut for her advocacy on behalf of persons with special needs, Pope’s participation in the Annual Meeting will offer other professionals the chance to learn more about the tools they can use to protect and advise the special needs community.
“The rights and interests of people with disabilities and special needs are complex, which makes them vulnerable,” says Pope, a long-time member of ASNP and past board member of several non-profit boards, including the Connecticut Brain Injury Association and Bipolar Support Alliance. “Their futures depend upon the support and insight of the practitioners who know the laws, the nuances of public benefit eligibility and the unique planning strategies used to safeguard family assets.”
In addition to her moderating the 3-day event, Pope’s presentations include:
- “Building and Maintaining a Special Needs Practice”
- “Best Practices for Special Needs Trust Administration”
The ASNP consists of special needs planning professionals such as attorneys, financial planners and trust officers. The Academy provides its members with the latest information on legal developments nationwide and a forum for exchanging best practices in providing services to persons with special needs. It also provides professionals the tools and education to improve their understanding of the unique challenges that arise during special needs planning.
