Do I get less care if I am on Medicaid?
No, that's a misconception.
Nursing home residents, whether their care is paid for by Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, or the resident’s own money, all receive the same quality of care and ancillary services (laundry, dietary, janitorial, etc.).
The only appreciable difference is that a private pay resident may have a private room—Medicaid and Medicare residents usually have to share a room.
